Happy Doula Week

World Doula Day is celebrated on March 22nd, coinciding with the spring equinox, a symbol of renewed fertility across various global cultures.

What do doulas do?

We provide informational, practical (but not medical!) and emotional support to families throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

We will provide you with evidence based information to help you make informed choices during your pregnancy, birth and parenting.

We will nurture you and care for you if you want us to.

We provide continuous care which unfortunately can not always be provided by maternity services.

We are here to take care of YOU, not your baby. Although we will, of course, help you with any newborn care and look after the baby while you rest or have you time.

We can support you with any type of feeding. Research (see link) shows that having a postnatal doula means breastfeeding is more likely to be successfully established.
