Spotlight on Cedarwood Essential Oil

The Atlas Cedar is a tall, evergreen tree with highly aromatic wood that can live for more than 1,000 years.

Cedar has been known for its strength for many, many years. It is mentioned in The Bible as the chosen wood with which Solomon built the Temple in Jerusalem. It is known as 'the tree of life' and in the scripture, the essential oil is called one of the oils of joy and gladness along with frankincense, myrrh and Sandalwood.

In more modern day practices, Cedarwood Essential Oil is used in Aromatherapy Massage to protect the body against harmful bacteria, facilitate wound-healing, address the discomforts of muscle aches, joint pain or stiffness, soothe coughs as well as spasms, support the health of the organs, regulate menstruation, and stimulate circulation.

Additionally, Cedarwood Essential oil can calm and soothe the mind, it promotes contentment and confidence when inhaled and/or used in Aromatherapy Massage.

Cedarwood Essential Oil has a woody scent with an undertone of citrus and at #thepixieretreat I particularly like to blend it with Frankincense and Grapefruit for a soothing Autumnal Massage.
